Advanced Modern Slavery Training - Ethical Trading initiative (ETI)

10 July 2017      Emma Keenan, Procurement Specialist

Most modern slavery courses tend to focus on specific cases of modern slavery, spotting the signs, criminal justice systems and legal compliance. There are a number of training courses that address corporate due diligence and legal reporting requirements, rarely, if ever however, do events provide organisations with practical steps to address the problem within their own institution as well as supply chains in the long-term, we want to address that!

Delivered for HEPA by the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) we have arranged a one day training event which will explore how your institution can improve practices that tackle the root causes of modern slavery in your supply chains, you will receive expert, practical guidance on how you can use due diligence to identify risks before they occur and how to remediate when issues become evident.

The training will be delivered by Linda Shaw who has extensive experience in both education and research within the university and adult education sector, involving global supply chains and international development. She has worked for universities, NGOs and organisations at the UK, European and wider international level. Additionally, Dr Olga Martin-Ortega from the University of Greenwich will feed into the content development to ensure it builds on (not repeats) existing knowledge.

Aimed at senior procurement professionals or those with a specialist interest in this area, the day will be held at Woburn House in London on October 11th.  The cost per person for the full day is just £275 and includes lunch. Training outside the sector via other recognised providers is nearly double this, places however are unfortunately strictly limited to 20.  To book please click here.
