07 March 2017 Emma Keenan, Procurement Specialist
We have been busy here at HEPA HQ carefully identifying the needs of procurement professionals and pulling together a training programme which will help you in your role. We wanted to make you aware of some recent additions:
On 25th April, Achilles are running an EU update course for us. This will cover all changes to the regulations in England and Wales since they were enacted in November 2015. Included in the packed agenda are pre-procurement engagement, the light-touch regime, and SQ and reporting requirements. Click here to see more info and how to book.
We are very lucky to have secured some time with one of the UKs leading procurement lawyers David Hansom of Veale Wasborough Vizards. David has many years of experience in assisting Universities when difficulties arise and he will use his knowledge to provide for us, on 19th April, a full days’ training on daily practical procurement strategies to minimise risk and maximise value. He will cover everything from how to approach different types of risk, choosing the right procedure, drafting documents, evaluation pitfalls and how to manage challenges effectively. He has some nifty tips to help you avoid problems during your procurement process. To read the full agenda and book a place please click here. Please note that spaces are limited, and that this is for England and Wales only.
CIPS are running a free webinar for us on their excellent global standard and self-assessment tool, for those considering a change or want to train for that next step up the ladder. The tool enables CIPS members to assess themselves - where their skills are and where they need to be - against a set of core competencies and job descriptions. The event takes place on 22nd March at 10.30am. Click here to reserve your place.
A reminder also that HEPA have a range of free advisory documents covering lots of helpful topics including writing a procurement strategy, sustainability, and procurement for non-procurement professionals. You can see the full list at the bottom of this page.
