Times are difficult for construction.
Brexit, COVID and the war in Ukraine have created a perfect storm, hitting the industry with one challenge after another – labour and materials shortages, steep price inflation, project delays, and uncertainty.
This has created a perfect breeding ground for disputes … but disputes drain energy and resources, and when the difficulties being experienced in a construction project are actually difficulties which are being reflected at the same time nationally and even globally across the construction sector, the normal solutions (like getting another contractor in to complete the works, or holding a supplier to a fixed price) are now not always achievable or realistic, and instead risk creating greater issues like insolvency.
So, how do you try to resolve your disputes in the best way possible?
