Carbon Literacy Training

26 April 2021      Ashley Shelbrooke, HEPA and Project Specialist

Colleagues at AUDE (the Association of University Directors of Estates) are hosting a training course covering Carbon Literacy in conjunction with EAUC (the Alliance for Sustainability Leadership in Education) and we are delighted that this course is also open for BUFDG and HEPA members to book here.

A full overview of the course is provided below.

Date: Friday 7th and Friday 14th May  (running in two halves to make the content easier to digest)
Time: 09.30 – 13.00 on both days
Cost: £60 + VAT
Capacity:15 delegates (as at 28/04/21 the event has sold out – please see below for further courses running in September, October and November)

Reducing emissions relies on every single person in an organisation being aware of the carbon impacts of their choices, and feeling motivated and supported to take action.

Our online Carbon Literacy course is a blended learning experience, with self-study elements alongside 2 half days virtual training, and is relevant climate change learning for everyone. It is a great way to gain a solid awareness of climate change, and the climate impacts of our everyday actions. The engaging and interactive training allows delegates to map their own carbon footprint, and gain an understanding and motivation to reduce personal and work-place emissions.

The course ensures an understanding of how climate change is affecting us now and into the future, opportunities to better communicate climate issues at work and at home and introduces social aspects such as climate justice.

This course is tailored to the university and college sector, and to support learners to identify practical steps they can take, to get involved in your organisation's low carbon journey.
