Social Enterprises

You may have already read HEPA Deputy Chair Veronica Daly’s two part blog on the subject of Social Enterprises – part one looked at socially responsible procurement at Kings College London and part two focused on social enterprises and responsible procurement

It is a real privilege to be able to invite all our members to a time to talk hosted by Veronica and Peter Holbrook, CEO of Social Enterprise UK, on 29 October at 10AM.  The session will support the work of the Responsible Procurement Group and explain what Social Enterprises do, their importance to the local economy and how they help businesses achieve their sustainability goals.  It will also discuss how the university sector can work with Social Enterprises to achieve their social value goals and is of course free of charge for members and their colleagues to attend.  Register your place here!

Brexit

It is still not too late to register for our time to talk with David Hansom, Partner, Clyde & Co. where he will discuss making sense of Brexit; where are we now for the higher education sector?.  The session takes place on Wednesday next week and members can book their places here.

David recently wrote a guest article for HEPA which explored Brexit and universities, and how new procurement and state aid regimes could affect the sector.  You can read this article here.  David and Achilles recently released another guest article focusing on the possible implications for procurement with three months to Brexit.  The piece is available here.

Customs Training – essential Brexit preparation

Due to popular demand we have released more dates for the Customs Training with The Customs People.  The sessions will cover Customs, Import VAT and Duty and are highly recommended for you or members of your team who deal with these areas, especially as we approach the end of the year and Brexit.  Book your places below:
